A charity auction run by itoast2you was just one of the activities in a fun packed evening of entertainment held in aid of ABF The Soldiers Charity at The Stones Hotel, Salisbury. Event promoters Cow Parsley Events provided the decoration and no small amount of extra attraction in the form of 6 topless table hosts for the Ladies only event on Saturday 5th March.
Over 80 ladies braved the chilly night, and entered in the spirit of the Moulin Rouge theme, to enjoy a 3 course dinner, music from a jazz band from the Royal Artillery, fund raising games and a photo wall courtesy of David McGirr Photography. Late night disco was provided by Riky Grover aka Ricky DuSet.
As the auctioneer for the night it was my job to get the ladies into a bidding frenzy for the 'lots' on offer. After a bit of a slow start, the ladies soon got the idea, and the specially prepared auction bid cards were being held up so quickly, it was great to have two of the topless male table hosts beside me to spot the bids. In all, there were 6 'lots' in the auction, and successful bidders walked away with, a tandem parachute jump, an off road experience day, a hair treatment from a local salon, a family day at Salisbury Fire Station, 2 tickets for the Army v Navy rugby match and perhaps the star prize, a meal for up to 8 people cooked in your own home by a professional chef. The auction raised just short of £1,000, and the whole evening raised over £3,000 for the charity, a great result.
